katherine was awarded her 'doc' degree today!
the ceremony was at the Melbourne Town Hall - we went out with a few friends for a long lunch celebration!

Australian Open
Oz Open pix - first Friday:
kath and i had a great time at tennis yesterday -- we went to the Margaret Court Arena and planted ourselves in good seats and stayed all day --- we saw men's doubles, woman's singles match (with another belgian - yanina wickmayer - another baseline banger a la clijsters), and the monfils - Isner match. Isner took that match with his massive serves and big forehand --- monfils still could have taken that match as he had a break in the 3rd set but gave it back with a lazy game and lost the set in a tie-breaker. after that he moped around and Isner kept his nerve won it in the 4th set tiebreaker.
